About Chardham Package

Chardham Package includes four very famous temples of Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand is located in north India and known as Devbhoomi (land of gods). Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath are four famous temples located in Himalayan Mountains of Uttarakhand. Since ancient time, the importance of the Char Dham as pilgrimage destination has grown considerably. Chardham is currently one of the most famous pilgrimage circuits in India among the Hindu pilgrims across the world. Every year thousands of tourists visit these holy temples to get blessing as well as mesmerised by beauty of the Himalaya. It will be certainly great experience for pilgrims as well as nature lovers.

Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Delhi / Dehradun / Haridwar / Rishikesh Haridwar
Morning meet our representative at your Hotel / Airport / Railway Station. Start your journey to Haridwar. Check in to hotel. Evening visit Har Ki Pauri and Ganga Aarti. Overnight stay at Haridwar.

Haridwar: The holy city of Haridwar translates to “Gateway to God,” and the breathtaking city, replete with temples, is a magnet for religious pilgrims from all over the globe. Religious festivals hold even further draw, and tourists can’t helped but be compelled by the city’s aura of intense spirituality. Haridwar is one of the seven holiest places of the Hindus, located on the banks of River Ganges. The sheer numbers of people gathering around Har Ki Pauri Ghat give Haridwar a chaotic but reverent feel.

Day 02: Haridwar Barkot (210kms/7-8hr)
Morning after breakfast, check out from hotel. Transfer to Barkot. On the way visit Mussoorie Mall Road and Kempty Falls. Later drive to Barkot. Check into the hotel arrival in Barkot. Overnight stay at Barkot.

Barkot: Barkot is small town located near Yamuna River in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand state in India. Barkot has approx 16000 population. Barkot is nearest big town for the Yanunotri Temple.

Barkot Weather – Generally pleasant in summer, the temperature ranges from 25-30 degree Celsius, Winter: The Days are pleasantly cool but the nights are cold, temp ranges from 10 deg to 05 deg.

Day 03: Barkot JankiChatti Yamunotri Jankichatti Barkot {35kms drive & 6kms Trek (one side)}

Early morning after breakfast, drive to Jankichatti / Phoolchatti. Start your trek from here to Yamunotri (6kms) (Either by walk or by horse or by Doli at own cost). After arrival at Yamunotri take bath in warm waters of Surya Kund (Hot Spring). Enjoy Darshan of “Yamunaji”. Return trek to Jankichatti. Later drive towards Barkot. Overnight stay at Barkot.

Yamunotri Temple: Maharani Gularia of Jaipur built the temple in the 19th Century. It was destroyed twice in the present century and rebuilt again. At Yamunotri, One can cook rice by packing it in a cloth and dipping it in the hot water of the Tapt kund. Pilgrims take this cooked rice home as “Prasad”. Here near the temple “Pooja” can be offered to Divya Shila.

Surya Kund: There are a Number of thermal springs near temple, which flows into numerous pools. The most important of these is Surya Kund.

DivyaShila: A rock pillar, worshipped before entering the Yamunotri Temple.

Yamunotri Weather – In summer the maximum temp is 18 degrees and the minimum is 10 degrees Celsius. The days are pleasantly cool but the nights are cold.

Day 04: Barkot Uttarkashi (100kms/4hr)
Morning after breakfast, relax for a while. Later drive to Uttarkashi. Visit Shivgufa on the way to Uttarkashi. In Uttarkashi visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple. After that, check in hotel. Day free for rest. Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.

Uttarkashi is home to a number of ashrams & temples. Due to its similarity to Kashi (Varanasi) it is known as Kashi of North (Means Uttar-kashi). Similar to Varanasi, town of Uttarkashi is also situated on the banks of River Ganga.

Shivgufa: Shivgufa is small temple at Shivkhori between Barkot & Uttarkashi. It is widely visited by tourists while driving to Uttarakashi.

Vishwanath Temple: Vishwanath Temple is one of the oldest Shiva temples in Northern India. Re-constructed in 1857 by Maharani Khaneti Devi of Tehri State in the ancient architectural style. It is situated at the heart of the town. A massive iron trident, symbol of divine mother, is erected and worshiped from ancient time at the temple complex. Ganeshji, Sakshi Gopal, Akhand Jyoti & Markandeya Rishi’s small shrines are also part of the temple complex. Special Aarti & Abhishek is done every day morning and evening. As per Skund Puran, Uttarkashi is known as ‘Saumya Varanasi’, the abode of Lord Shiva in Kaliyug.

Shakti Temple: Right in front of the Vishwanath temple is Shakti temple. It has a big trident (Trishul) about 6 meters in height and a circumference of 90 cms at bottom. Though there are different materials for making this trident, the upper part of it seems to be made up of iron and the lower one is of copper. As per the religious belief this trident was thrown by Shakti (Durga) on the devils hence it gets its name.

Uttarkashi Weather: Generally hot in summer, the temperature ranges from 30-35 degree Celsius but nights is pleasant, cold in winters.

Day 05: Uttarkashi Gangotri Uttarkashi (100kms/3-4 each side)
Early morning after breakfast, drive to Gangotri. On the way visit Gangnani Hot Spring. Take a holy dip in Kund. Later drive to Gangotri via beautiful Harsil valley. Harsil is famous for its natural beauty and majestic views of the Himalayan Mountains. On arrival at Gangotri, take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganges which is also called Bhagirathi at its origin. Perform Pooja and Darshan, after that relax for some time in the lovely surroundings. Later return drive to Uttarkashi. Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.

Gangotri Temple: The temple was constructed by the Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa in the 18th Century, is situated on the right bank of Bhagirathi.

Gangotri Weather – The maximum temperature during summer can go up to 20° Celsius. Summer nights can get cooler with a minimum temperature of 10° Celsius. Light woolen clothes are required while visiting Gangotri during summer. Winter season is very chilly in Gangotri. Gangotri will be covered in sheets of snow during winter. Pilgrim centers remains closed throughout winter due to heavy snow falls.

Day 06: Uttarkashi Guptkashi (220kms/8-9hr)
Morning after breakfast, drive to Guptkashi via Moolgarh & Lambgoan. Enroute you can see the beautiful river Mandakini at Tilwara. The Mandakini River comes from Kedarnath, drive alongside the river to reach Guptakashi, visit Ardh Narishwar Temple in Guptakashi. Check into the hotel arrival in Guptkashi. Overnight stay at Guptkashi.

Guptkashi: The name Gupt Kashi means “Hidden Benares. According to mythology when the Pandava brothers were searching for the Lord Shiva, Shiva first concealed himself at Guptkashi. Later from there he went further up tothe valley of Kedarnath, where the Pandavas finally got their wish fulfilled. Kedarnath pandits (priests) live in Guptkashi during the winter months, and after the Kedarnath temple closes for the winter, the image of Kedarnath passes through Gupt Kashi on its way to Ukhimath (across the valley), where it stays for the winter.

Guptkashi Weather: Pleasant in summer, the temperature ranges from 25-30 degree Celsius. cold in winters.

Day 07: Guptkashi / / Kedarnath (30kms by road & 14 kms Trek one way) Height: 3384 MTS.
Morning after breakfast, today we will go to Kedarnath. To reach Kedarnath you will have two options. One if by trekking and other is by Air via Helicopter.

By Helicopter: Morning our driver will transfer you to your Helipad location (Phata, Guptkashi, Sirsi etc) as per helicopter ticket time. Kindly inform the driver timings of helicopter mentioned on the ticket previous day. Different aviation has different location for their helicopter service. Our driver will provide you pick and drop to hotel. Kindly inform the driver timings of helicopter mentioned on the ticket. Advance booking is highly recommended for the helicopter.

By Trek: To reach Kedarnath by trekking route first you have to reach Gaurikund. We will drive to Sonprayag early in the morning after breakfast. Our car will drop to Sonprayag. From Sonprayag 5 kms drive to Gaurikund local jeep is available. This sharing basis jeep guests can book directly at own cost. Gaurikund to Kedarnath is further 14 Kms trek.

After reaching the Kedarnath visit Kedarnath Temple. Check in to the hotel/ashram. Visit Shankaracharya Samadhi. Overnight stay at Kedarnath. (Meals: Breakfast and Dinner)

Kedarnath: The Kedarnath shrine, one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is a scenic spot situated, against the backdrop of the majestic Kedarnath range. Kedar is another name of Lord Shiva. According to legend, the Pandavas after having won over the Kaurava in the Kurukshetra war, felt guilty of having killed their own brothers and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption. He eluded them repeatedly and while fleeing took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a bull. On being followed he dived into the ground, leaving his hump on the surface. The remaining portions of Lord Shiva appeared at four other places and are worshipped there as his manifestations. The arms appeared at Tungnath, the face at Rudranath, the belly at Madhmaheshwar and his locks (hair) with head at Kalpeshwar. Kedarnath and the four above-mentioned shrines are treated as PanchKedar.

Kedarnath Weather – Due to its high altitude the weather in Kedarnath remains cold for most part of the year. Summer here is cool and pleasant while winter is severe. During summer season the temperature varies around 20°Celsius. Light woolen wear is recommended. Winter season in Kedarnath is severe with mercury falling to as low as 0°Celsius. During this time the place experiences snowfall as well. Due to the extreme climatic conditions, this time is usually avoided by tourists.

Day 08: Kedarnath / / Guptkashi (30kms by road & 14 kms Trek one way) Height: 3384 MTS.

Morning after breakfast explore nearby areas by walk at Kedarnath. Later reach Guptkashi as per your choice by trek or Helicopter.

By Helicopter: Inform the driver when you leave for Kedarnath about your approximate return time and helipad name according to ticket. Our driver will pick up you from helipad and transfer you to your hotel.

By Trek: Inform the driver approximate return time. Once you reach Gaurikund from Kedarnath by trek you can take local jeep till Sonprayag. Our driver will meet here. Due to parking issue keep driver’s contact number with you and call him when you reach sonprayag so he can pick up you.
Gaurikund to Sonprayag local jeep at your own cost. Get packed breakfast from hotel to start early. Horse / Pony / Palakhi is also available for trekking at Gaurikund. Guests can book that at own cost.

At arrival check in to hotel in Guptkashi. Overnight stay at Guptkashi. (Meals: Breakfast and Dinner)

Day 09: Guptkashi Badrinath (220kms/9-10hrs)
Morning after breakfast, drive to Badrinath. Check in to the hotel arrival in Badrinath. Pilgrims after having a bath in the Taptkund have the Darshan of Badrivishal & Aarti in evening. Brahamakapal is significant for Pinddan – Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus). There are other interesting sightseeing spots like Mana, Vyas Gufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund and the “Mukh of the Saraswati River”. Just within the three kms of Badrinath. Overnight stay at Badrinath.

Badrinath one of the ‘Ancient Four Dhams’ is one of the most celebrated pilgrimage spots of the country and is situated at an elevation of 3,133 meters, guarded on either side by the two mountain ranges known as Nar & Narayan with the towering Neelkanth Peak providing a splendid backdrop. This revered spot was once carpeted with wild berries. Thus the place got the name “Badri van”, meaning “forest of berries”.

Tapt Kund: Natural thermal springs on the bank of the river Alaknanda, where it is customary to bath before entering the Badrinath temple.

Mana Village: Inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe, it is the last Indian village before Tibet.

Vasundhara: As the name suggests, vasundhara is a magnificent water fall. This place is 5 kms. From Badrinath out of which 2 kms is by road upto Mana.

BhimPul : On the other side of Mana village, a massive rock forming a natural bridge, lies over the roaring Saraswati river. It presents a spectacular view of water thundering down through the narrow passage under the rock and is believed to have been placed there by Bhim, the second eldest among the five Pandava brothers.

Vyas Gufa (cave): Near Mana Village, this is a rock-cave where Ved Vyas is believed to have composed the Mahabharata and the pauranic commentaries.

Badrinath Weather: The average maximum temperature will be around 18° Celsius and the average minimum is 8° Celsius. Warm and woolen clothes are hence required for a stay in Badrinath throughout the year. Winter in Badrinath is often accompanied by snow falls. Winter is very chilly with an average temperature of 5° Celsius. Due to the extreme climatic conditions, this time is usually closed for tourists.

Day 10: Badrinath Joshimath Rudraprayag (160kms/7hr)
Morning enjoy the after breakfast, drive for Rudraprayag via Joshimath. Visit on the way Darshan of VishuPrayag, Narsingh Temple in Joshimath, KarnPrayag and NandPrayag. Check into the hotel arrival in Rudraprayag. Overnight stay at Rudraprayag.

Joshimath: is situated on the slopes above the confluence of the rivers Alaknanda and Dhauliganga. One Of the four ‘Maths’ established by AdiShankaracharya, Joshimath is the winter seat of Badrinath. The idol is brought down to Joshimath and installed in the temple for people to worship. There are many other temples in the township. The most important is the temple of Nar Singh with the idol of Lord Vishnu.

Rudraprayag: It is one of the PanchPrayag (five confluences) of Alaknanda River. It is confluence of rivers Alaknanda and Mandakini. Kedarnath, a Hindu holy town is located 86 km from Rudraprayag.

Rudraprayag Weather: Generally hot in summer, the temperature ranges from 35-40 degree Celsius, Winter: The Days are pleasantly cool but the nights are cold, temp ranges from 20 deg to 05 deg.

Day 11: Rudraprayag Haridwar (150kms/05 hrs)
Morning after breakfast, check out from hotel. Transfer to Rishikesh. On the way short visit to Dev Prayag & Rishikesh. Check in to the hotel in Rishikesh. Evening relax in the hotel. Overnight stay at Haridwar.

Dev Prayag: One of the most famous out of Panch Prayag Devprayag is where Alaknanda River (From Badrinath) & Bhagirathi River (coming from Gaumukh) meets each other. Together they are called The Ganga.

Day 12: Haridwar Delhi (210kms/6 hrs)
Morning after breakfast, check out from hotel. Visit Mansa Devi Temple.

Drive for Delhi. Drop at Delhi Hotel / Airport / railway station. (Meals: Breakfast)

Terms & Conditions

  • Chardham is pilgrimage tour which is operational for a limited period only. Many hotels run during a limited period only so it may not have the same standard even if they charge 2-4 times high prices compare to other similar hotels running round the year. Keep your expectation low in areas like Barkot, Uttarkashi, Guptkashi, Kedarnath, Badrinath and Rudraprayag as it may not have same quality hotels like other hotels in package like Haridwar Rishikesh. In some areas like Kedarnath stay budget Dharamshala only.
  • Kedarnath stay will be in bigger rooms Triple Qaud Six sharing as per your group size. You will be not sharing room with others unknown people but your own people only. If couples wants personal room on double only and if double room is not available at the time booking we will give triple bed room at 2500 rs extra. In Kedarnath stay will be in basic Dharamshala only as luxury deluxe hotels are not available. We advise guests to carry towel and warm showls. Hot water will be provided in Bucket if gyser is not working due to any reason. Generally 150 rs they charge for hot water per bucket. If any confusion kindly recheck before confirmation how many rooms you will get in Kedarnath.
  • In hill area many hotels do not have TV, AC, Intercom, Wifi, 24*7 Power Back Up or lift. Kindly check before if you are interested in hotels with perticular facilities at the time of inquiry. Room heaters may be charged extra at hotels. In hill areas hotels are built on slope so many hotels will not have lift. You will get rooms on second third floor also which you may require to climb without lift. If customer is not able to climb steps kindly contact us we will make personal and customized tour with hotels which are having lift or rooms / cottage on ground level.
  • AC will not work in all hill areas or stopped / parked vehicle. (AC will also not work in downhill, or on flat hill roads.). In Chardham areas only Haridwar Rishikesh Dehradun is plain area. Every other area is Hills. Once you leave Dehradun / Rishikesh till you return Rishikesh AC will not work entire tour. Dzire Crysta Ertiga generally charge some extra for AC in Hills which guest can pay directly or add extra in above tour cost. Tempo Travellers will be Non AC only in Hills as most of them are not able to run ac in Hills.
  • As per the directive given by the Government of India, all Indian/Foreign Nationals are required to provide proper proof of identification upon check-in. valid identifications documents are: Passport & Visa together, Voters Id card, Current Drivers License, Aadhar Card. All the documents must include a photograph. Hotel / camps or any kind of accommodation can deny stay if valid id proof is not provided. Company is not responsible for any ID proof related issues.
  • Generally hotel check in time is 14:00 hrs and checkout time is 11:00 hrs. Confirm early check in or late checkout will be chargeable if not included in cost. Kindly contact hotel directly if you want complimentary early check in or late check out.
  • If meals are included in package it will be served at set menu basis in a buffet menu / fixed / meal credit. Any items which are not in their in Buffet / Fixed menu will be charged extra at the time of consumption. Hotels decide the menu and options of items for menu. Some hotels having Meal credit policy instead of Buffet or Fixed Menu during low occupancy in hotel – This meal credit amount is decided by hotel management – if bills goes above the given meal credit amount then extra amount should be paid directly at respective hotel. Room service for the food or packing is charged extra at many hotels.
  • No refund for short stay or unveiled facilities.
  • Normally for extra bed on double sharing rooms many hotels has rollaway bed while rest of the hotels provide extra mattress only. If you are not comfortable with mattress system instead of bed let us know in advance.
  • If you book more than one rooms it may be possible that not all rooms are on same area or same floor or exactly the same even in the same category or at same price. Unless mentioned specific room at the time of booking. By default base category rooms are booked. Many people travel in groups at Chardham so room allocation will be as per hotel management. Room selection before check in sometime not possible even if they are empty at the time of check in as room allocation is decided in advance for groups. Sometime hotels has same price for all rooms but some rooms will be better than others but it is not possible to give all clients best rooms even if you book 3-4 months before. Kindly cooperate for the same at the time of check in.
  • In case of budget hotels: During the peak season time large number of people travel together in big groups. In rare cases one of the hotels in the tour we may need to change last minute if some group has last minute change in plan due to any reason. It is our responsibility to give similar hotel in that case without any extra charge. Guests are requested to cooperate for the same if they have selected to travel in peak season.
  • We reserve the right to give you a similar car if the car you booked is unavailable. Due to any reason if vehicle breakdown due to technical reasons we will try our best to arrange another vehicle as soon as possible for the major problems. For minor problems which will not take much time vehicle will be repaired. Kindly cooperate.
  • If the tour is starting from Delhi vehicle needs some extra time for Green Card procedure at Uttarakhand border/Rishikesh. It may take 03 Hours approx, kindly co-operate for the same.
  • During the peak season large number of vehicles is assigned in Chardham from all over the north india. Some of the driver may have less knowledge than others. Not every driver will have 100% knowledge. New roads are made, parking places change depending on crowd, traffic is diverted on different route. Sometimes after 1-2 yrs places look completely different. Situation like this can confuse even well experienced drivers. If less experienced driver is provided guests we generally provide everyday extra guidance to clients for best experience. Kindly cooperate as to change driver in high season may not be possible in high season.
  • In case you want multiple visit to the some particular place kindly mention in advance because some places are having very high charges of parking. Tour pick up and drop point will be one only (If multiple pickups and drop please mentions email conversation before booking) Tour destination / route cannot change without prior notice (Amended route and tour Destination rates may be change).
  • In some hill area roads driving after sunset and music is not allowed due to risk of life. Kindly cooperate for the same. Kindly try to reach your destination before 08 Pm for your own safety as well govt guidelines.
  • The rates are subject to change, depending on the sudden inflation of diesel/Petrol prices in India or very high inflation due to economy crisis. However it’s very rare case and we have never needed to change agreed price so far.
  • Some time vehicle parking area little far from the sightseeing spots. Guests need to reach the parking at their own cost. At many of the tourist destination / hill station – some of the road / shopping market / mall road have “NO ENTRY” for all / some bigger tourist vehicles depends on destination along with time restrictions also. In this kind of situation guest have to manage another available mode of transport with an additional cost and on direct payment basis, this cost is not included in ideal package inclusion. Driver will not drive on No-entry zones and should not be forced to drive on narrow streets or roads which can create traffic jam. Normal working hours of driver is 11 hrs in case you want services more than 11 hours in a day kindly inform us in advance.
  • Car booked in the tour is as per the program. Car is not on disposable basis unless we have informed you in advance at the time of booking. In Chardham we don’t give cars based on kms limit where guest can travel as per their choice of 200-300 kms per for unlimited hours per day. Sightseeing will be as per the program and extra sightseeing not on the route sometime cost extra. During the peak season car / taxi rates are almost double than the off season for the chardham and that too don’t include any extra sightseeing.
  • Vehicle will be permitted to use for sightseeing points on the route and inside the city limits or which is mentioned in itinerary. For additional sightseeing, off route sightseeing, sightseeing not inside the city limits or substitute sightseeing kindly contact company. Refund is not possible if any particular sightseeing point is not covered. In case you want some excursions kindly inform company in advance or discuss these things with company rather than driver. All nearby sightseeing points should be covered together. However in case of sometime issues with some particular place we can adjust.
  • No cancellation or any refund will be made if situation is beyond our control, such as bad weather, landslide, climatic conditions or any other natural disaster, fire, any embargo, acts or decisions of government, political or national crisis, road blocks, heavy snow fall, acts of terrorism or other similar causes, strikes or problems at airlines, rails, buses, hotels or transporters, labor unrest, insolvency, business exigencies, operational and technical issues, route and flight cancellations or due to which the customer could not reach the destination and which is beyond our control.
  • Company is not responsible for any accident/injury/death/theft of person or property during the course of the tour.
  • All rights reserved to management to cancel service if advance amount towards the service is received from the customer.
  • We here by expressly disclaim any implied warranties imputed by the laws of any jurisdictions or country other than India. We consider our self and intends to the jurisdictions only of the court of Uttarakhand India.
  • Early morning pick-up and late night drop can cost extra. Delhi sightseeing / local use / market visit even if it is for short time generally charged extra. It is not included in the tour cost.
